QUIET Statement is Milliken’s latest carpet tile collection created by in-house senior designer Helen Lloyd inspired by her travels through Marrakesh.
It was made in the UK using Milliken’s patented Millitron printing technology, which makes possible the gently nuanced patterns and the expression of depth and warmth. The collection is designed with the intention of bringing clarity and balance to commercial interiors.
Says the company: ‘Quiet Statement flooring can help to create a refined and composed interior and is shaped by a thoughtful exploration of texture, balance and understated detail. This quietly expressive collection celebrates the beauty of restraint – where interpretations of clean architectural lines, subtle brickwork references and soft textures come together to create spaces of calm confidence.’
Milliken designer Helen Lloyd explains: ‘Ultimately, Quiet Statement is about translating a feeling as much as a place – capturing the quiet beauty I experienced in Marrakesh and expressing it through tone, texture and thoughtful design. Drawing from the rich architectural language of the city, Quiet Statement captures the essence of clean, structured lines, subtle brickwork influences, and softly layered textures.’
Quiet Statement is available in four distinct designs: Arabesque, Kasbah, Maroc and Medina. Each pattern is inspired by a different aspect of Marrakesh’s distinctively elegant architecture, cityscapes and building materials.
‘Maroc’ is informed by the contrast between raw, textured plaster and refined contemporary surfaces. Tone-on-tone brickwork patterns gently reference traditional architecture and refined lines reportedly build subtle texture and a sense of understated structure. It has a palette available of 32 colours in this design.
The ‘Kasbah’ design is rooted in traditional medina architecture and reflects the way buildings and archways break sunlight into fragments. With bold contrasts of light and shade and arch-like motifs. ‘Arabesque’ draws on the city’s traditional architectural patterns and ornamental detail.
‘It shifts between clarity and softness, creating depth and a calm presence where ornament dissolves into texture,’ says the company. ‘The last design in the collection is named after and inspired by the historic walled city of ‘Medina.’ The maze-like streets, narrow pathways that suddenly open into wider spaces are interpreted as a pattern of layering and movement.’
Customisation is available from Milliken’s in-house design team for those who want to experiment and transition from one colour to the next or recolour the three statement designs: Medina, Kasbah and Arabesque.
Quiet Statement is available with TractionBack 2.0 on request. It’s glue-free installation system which uses a proprietary friction backing that securely grips the floor without the need for traditional adhesives.
Milliken says it enables faster installation, healthier spaces (eliminating VOCs and odours for improved indoor air quality) and reuse of floor tiles.
Concludes the company: ‘Quiet Statement comes with WellBAC Comfort Plus cushion backing as standard. Delivering enhanced acoustic performance and excellent underfoot comfort. It also improves wear performance and comes with a 15-year warranty. Made using Econyl yarn which uses 100% regenerated content.’
