Karndean Commercial launches Knight Tile Curio and Empire Marble designs

KARNDEAN Commercial is launching Knight Tile Curio and Empire Marble chequerboard, introducing geometric flooring options designed to bring colour, pattern and flexibility to commercial and residential interiors.
The new Knight Tile Curio collection is built around a single geometric tile that can be used to create multiple layouts through rotation and repetition. The design approach allows designers to create various flooring schemes using one tile format.

Developed in response to demand for interiors that support wellbeing and personal expression, Knight Tile Curio introduces colour, pattern and movement to a range of environments. Through tessellation, designers can create flooring layouts that deliver visual interest without complex specification or installation requirements.
Richard Allen, vice president of commercial sales at Karndean Commercial, said: ‘Knight Tile Curio offers design flexibility through a single tessellating tile.

‘Designers can create abstract forms that introduce personality, rhythm and movement within a space. Using one tile that can be arranged into multiple laying patterns, Knight Tile Curio provides a straightforward way to achieve a range of design outcomes.’
Designed to make patterned flooring schemes more accessible, Knight Tile Curio enables designers to create distinctive interiors without the costs or installation challenges often associated with more complex flooring concepts.
The 9inx9in tile features a geometric design on an off-white background and is available in four colourways: Sage, Navy, Graphite and Terracotta.

The geometry of the tile reportedly allows it to be arranged in different orientations to create a variety of patterns through rotation and repetition. This approach enables different visual effects without the need for additional tile shapes or custom cutting.
Traditionally, patterned flooring designs can require bespoke manufacturing or extensive onsite cutting, increasing material waste and installation complexity.

Curio’s single-tile format is designed to simplify installation and reduce the potential for fitting errors, says the company.
‘Specification is also simplified, with a single SKU for each colourway. Each design is held in stock, reducing lead times often associated with bespoke flooring products and allowing designers to adjust layouts later in a project if required.
‘The Knight Tile collection also welcomes a new Empire Marble chequerboard design. Combining black and white marble-effect tiles, the design offers a contemporary interpretation of a classic flooring pattern.’

Continues the company: ‘Chequerboard layouts can be used to define, frame or zone spaces depending on the desired effect. Empire Marble is intended to provide a versatile option for designers seeking contrast and pattern in contemporary interiors.
For convenience, Empire Marble is supplied with both colours contained within a single box, helping to simplify specification, ordering and installation.

‘Like all Knight Tile products, Knight Tile Curio and Empire Marble combine design flexibility with the durability required for commercial and residential applications.
Each tile is designed to work across a range of tessellated layouts. At 2mm thick with a 0.3mm wearlayer, the collection is suitable for busy environments while maintaining its appearance over time.’

Adds the company: ‘The range also benefits from Karndean’s K-Guard+ surface protection system, providing a durable and easy-to-maintain finish. Knight Tile designs are backed by warranties of up to 10 years for commercial applications and a lifetime warranty for residential use.
‘Combining geometric design, colour and flexible layout options, the latest additions to the Knight Tile collection provide designers with new opportunities to create distinctive interiors while maintaining straightforward specification and installation.
