ProKnee introduces the Step Down Riser Plate Kit

PROKNEE has launched an add-on attachment kit for its Standard Treadman Multi-Angle Stair Tread Cutting System that is designed to work with Roppe’s LVT Six Degrees One Piece Step Down Riser Tread. The Step Down Riser Plate Kit reportedly allows users to capture angles of the riser using adjustable steel-plates on risers measuring between 6-1/8in to 8-7/8in.

Says ProKnee: ‘The Treadman itself is a tool specifically designed for the stair tread installer, novice, and experienced alike, that will cut your installation time in half and provide you with precise, professional results every time, thus eliminating the chance of costly mistakes.

‘What makes Treadman a unique and invaluable tool is its design and function that side steps tricky and time-consuming professional installation techniques, such as three-wall scribing and pattern scribing. By securely locking in each step/tread’s specific geometry, Treadman acts as your template and cutting guide for quick, accurate, and perfectly cut stair treads that conform to the most difficult of steps you may come up against.’

The company continues: ‘Treadman is a portable light weight tool weighing 6-1/2 lbs that is made up of 1/16in steel plates and built to withstand a lifetime of cutting. With large easy to adjust knobs and spring-loaded edge plates, Treadman makes your next measurement as quick and easy as your last. Treadman’s standard unit has the ability to expand in length from 35-1/4in to 61-1/2in, but with three other optional extension kits, Treadman’s range will actually expand from from 24in up to 9ft 1/2in.’ Treadman’s rubber stair-tread thickness gage reportedly automatically adjusts from 1/32in to 1/4in. ‘The optional self-storage carry case is constructed from blade-friendly high-density polyethylene, which expands and doubles as a sturdy heavy duty cutting surface designed to cut and handle rubber stair-treads up to 6-1/2 ft in length.’

The company concludes: ‘An overall cutting surface of 13-1/2in x 6 ft 3-3/4in with a 1-7/8in vertical surface is provided for cutting nosings. With very little practice and time you will have mastered this tool, which in turn rewards professionals with time savings and results of perfection.’
