Malmo stickdown freedom luxury vinyl tile (LVT): Safe and stylish choice for nursing homes

THE Malmo Stickdown Freedom luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring features a slip resistant aluminium oxide coating which provides a safe, stylish floorcovering in nursing homes. Available across the entire collection of 25 Malmo Stickdown Freedom designs, the aluminium oxide coating on the 0.55mm wearlayer increases the flooring’s slip resistance to +36 PTV, making it low risk in wet areas.

The surface coating, which doesn’t compromise the visual quality of the flooring, also provides an additional protective layer against potential scratches compared with a standard urethane layer alone. The Malmo Stickdown Freedom LVT flooring range also eliminates the need for any expansion gaps, which can cause trip hazards from the trims used.

This means the flooring can be seamlessly installed across large open areas, making it an ideal choice for environments used by people with reduced mobility such as nursing homes.

Gail Alcock, flooring director for Malmo says: ‘Our Malmo Stickdown Freedom LVT range is particularly suitable as a flooring for nursing homes. The aluminium oxide coating applied to the flooring gives vital prevention against slip accidents for residents and peace of mind to the nursing home staff.

‘Often safety flooring can be seen as quite dull and limited in design but the Malmo Stickdown Freedom range combines high performance specification with on-trend decors in realistic wood effects, stylish tile designs and chic herringbones.’

The Malmo LVT range is distributed by International Decorative Surfaces, is available ex-stock from all of their nationwide branches for 24-48 hour delivery and is supported by a 25-year domestic wear warranty, with 10 years for commercial applications.
