FLOOR FINISHES, VARNISHES & SEALANTS
MAPEI’s UltraCare range includes a series of treatments dedicated to floor protection.
Designed to protect all types of tile and stone – and developed for professional and end-user application – the treatments are supplied ‘ready-to-use, for easy application and longlasting surface durability’.
Continues Mapei: ‘Throughout the range, each UltraCare treatment is formulated to suit individual material characteristics and to offer a specific solution. Water-based treatments include UltraCare Grout Release, for pre-installation protection; natural-effect UltraCare Stain Protector; colour-enhancing UltraCare Intensifier, mould-resistant UltraCare Deep Protector, UltraCare Grout Protector and UltraCare Rain Protector W, which protects cracked tiles from water ingress.
‘Each benefits from EMICODE: EC1 Plus certification and, being water-based, allows fast application after installation, helping reduce project downtime. The range also includes two protective liquid waxes – matt-finish UltraCare Finish Opaca and gloss finish UltraCare Finish Lucida.’
Continues Mapei: ‘Formulated for internal, unpolished stone tiles, the waxes provide protection against a range of stains, including oil, ink and acidic stains. They’re applied neat with a fleece or cloth after application of an UltraCare impregnator and, once dry, can be buffed. UltraCare Finish Opaca delivers a matt finish, with buffing creating a satin appearance.
‘The treatments can also be diluted with water and applied periodically to maintain tile lustre. As well as providing excellent wear resistance, the blend of polymers and waxes delivers superior transparency, elasticity and improved slip resistance.
‘Alongside the protectors, Mapei’s UltraCare range also includes various maintenance products designed to preserve the appearance and performance of tile and stone surfaces. The products are tailored to suit individual tile characteristics – whether acid sensitive, acid resistant, polished or unpolished – and can be used across all settings, from new installations, to the renovation of existing surfaces.
‘In addition to daily and deep cleaning solutions, the range includes UltraCare Grout Cleaner and UltraCare Smooth Silicone – a mould-resistant smoothing product for finishing sealants.’
The company concludes: ‘Each treatment benefits from individual environmental product declaration (EPD) certification and the range also includes products with CO2e offset in the entire lifecycle.’
