THERE’s been a lot of talk about ‘forever chemicals’ in the news lately, with good reason. Forever chemicals, or PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a large group of manmade chemicals.
Used widely in all sorts of products to repel water, oil and grease, they’re called ‘forever chemicals’ because they’re highly persistent and don’t break down naturally in the environment but stay in our water, soil and air for hundreds of years.
They accumulate in human and animal tissue and are linked to several significant health issues. Plans to heavily regulate or ban PFAS are currently under development in the UK and EU.
Ahead of the curve, Junckers has eliminated PFAS from its product range by launching the PFAS-free MT500 Floor Lacquer. Tested by trusted partners in the UK and Denmark, the product has already received a thoroughly positive response, says the company.
The change makes Junckers a PFAS-free company, the rest of the product range is already free of forever chemicals, ahead of coming regulations, adds the company.
The next generation
Continues Junckers: ‘The MT500 Floor Lacquer offers improved application properties, increased wear resistance, durability, and a uniform visual appearance. The VOC content has been further reduced, and the raw materials have been adjusted to meet current environmental standards.

Optimal results
For best results, use MT500 Floor Lacquer in combination with Junckers’ fast-drying WB Primer, continues Junckers. ‘The primer minimises the risk of side-bonding between floorboards and ensures optimal adhesion to allow a fast and reliable application process and the best possible finish and performance.
