IF you’re looking to change your business’s attitude towards sustainable practises, the latest edition of the CFA’s Guide to sustainability 2024 is your mentor. Published in June, the publication is back with a vengeance, covering all things new in the sustainability world. The new supplement is an update of the greener approaches that companies are moving towards and is designed to inspire other organisations to look at their business models and adapt them into eco-friendlier methods.
One of the points covered in the publication is the developments which are happening in Europe. Jane Gardner of the European Floorcovering Association (EUFCA) and the European Resilient Flooring Manufacturers’ Institute (ERFMI) states in the guide how she’s optimistic that cross-border partnerships, government support and the input of various trade associations is leading to significant positive developments which will help us develop collection schemes for waste flooring products. Her work covers the auspices of CISUFLO and there’s currently a white paper which has been released of issues that are a topic of discussion.
This proposal states that there’s progress regarding the exploration of methods on how to collect and recycle different types of flooring waste. Working through and solving these current problems in the future, would set an example to the industry, giving businesses opportunities to contribute to these new recycling processes, allowing them to do their bit for the environment.
