A wood floor with soul in Les Iconics from BerryAlloc

Les Iconics is the latest parquet collection from BerryAlloc, capturing the soul of aged parquet in an engineered wood floor with modern performance.

Whether rustic, aged, brushed, or hand-scraped; every finish of BerryAlloc’s new Les Iconics engineered wood collection elicits emotion, using mechanical and manual procedures on the surface of oak to create a distinct and characterful look. Hammered bevels to create irregular edges, intense brushing to add an age-old effect and traces of saw and scuff marks; all give Les Iconics a unique charm and a feel of true history.

Les Iconics lets you pick from Aged or Rustic finish in a range of tones, as well as Herringbone and Chevron laying patterns in a natural oiled oak: there are plenty of options for a beautiful parquet floor that tells a personal story.

Julia Egeler, product manager parquet, says: ‘The popularity of traditional parquet is undeniable, but it’s hard to find a new floor that feels that it has history and life – particularly from an off-the-shelf collection. For Les Iconics, we’ve taken traditional hand-applied aging techniques and translated them into modern machine production. The result is a parquet floor that has all the character and charm of aged oak, and which can be produced on a large scale. With Les Iconics, this popular look is available to a bigger audience.’

Aged surface floors give the appearance of an old wood plank floor that’s been renovated by hand. Showcasing depth and warm, the surface features slight traces of sawing and is hand-scraped for a crafted feel. Using a natural oil finish that develops character with time, it comes in colours of Neroli, Badiane, Galanga and Massala in an elegant 1900 x 190mm plank.

Rustic’s deep brushed finish creates the distinct character of an old parquet floor. In shades of Sylva and Bosco, Rustic sees a brushed and hand-scraped oak with an aged effect and natural oil finish. Altis and Hortus use a combination of hand-scraping and traces of sawing with an aged effect finished in oil.

In Altis, BerryAlloc also uses three different thickness of oak top layer to imitate the irregular effect of old flooring. It also comes in mixed assortments of 1900, 1200, 680mm lengths to make its ‘old floor’ feel even more authentic.

Herringbone and Chevron bring the 19th century back into fashion in two parquet laying patterns. Available in a natural oil finish in the warm tone of Lutece, and with large knots and discreet irregularities, both laying patterns present a classic and traditional look that’s much in demand.

The Les Iconics collection uses a rustic oak facing layer in a quality 15mm engineered wood construction (Altis – 15/14/16mm), using tongue and groove for glue-down or secret-nail installation. Les Iconics is supported by a range of marketing materials, including two impressive stand options that can be used on their own, or to sit alongside other BerryAlloc wood, laminate, HPF, or LVT floors.
