COMMERCIAL property business, Potter Space, relocated its headquarters to a modern space in Leeds city centre. In contrast to its old disconnected, cellular offices, the company was looking to develop a more open and collaborative workstyle, appointing workplace design specialist Jayne Crampton of JAEs Interiors to transform the Cat A space into a new, future-proof work environment. The fitout firm was Ultimate Commercial Interiors.

Potter Space’s inviting new workplace is fluid and flexible, seamlessly accommodating a variety of different work settings, says MILLIKEN.

It adds: ’To achieve the aesthetic and performance qualities required for the floor coverings, Jayne specified an inspired combination of Milliken modular carpet and luxury vinyl tiles.
The kitchen area is bright and welcoming. The floor covering used is Milliken’s Rootwork luxury vinyl tiles, from the Change Agent collection, in the light wood of Larch. The product’s robust vinyl construction features an easy-to-maintain ProGuard MAX surface finish, bevelled edges and a textural aesthetic which perfectly mimics a natural wood floor.’

Reflecting the feature wall, and in keeping with the angular styling, the LVT is installed in a herringbone format and features an inset of Milliken’s Isotherm and Shackleton carpet tiles from the Arctic Survey collection. The two carpet designs are described by the company to work together to add rich texture and deep saturated colour in ‘Below Zero’, to highlight the kitchen’s seating area.

As a more open interior with exposed ceilings, acoustic management was said to be an important factor in the design brief for Potter Space’s new offices. The LVT, featuring Milliken’s FlexForm acoustic layer, absorbs 11dB of sound.

The company concludes: ‘With material sustainability a crucial element of any interior refurbishment, Potter Space also have the assurance all its new floor coverings are carbon neutral thanks to Milliken’s M/PACT Programme.’
