MORE than 4,000sq m of commercial flooring over three floors have been installed at a prestigious office development in Halifax by Paynters Contract Flooring.

In all, 36 different flooring products from six different manufacturers (Burmatex, Bolon, Ege Carpets, Forbo Flooring, Gerflor and Polyflor) were used to create what’s been described as a truly stunning bespoke design.

Design teams from Burmatex, Ege and Bolon worked collaboratively with the client’s designers/architect to put together a range of products and colours to meet a very specific design brief.

David Loud, estimator at Paynters says: ‘When I first saw this design concept on plan back in 2020 I knew this was going to be something very special, and the end result looks even better. Hats off to the design teams for having the vision to create something so visually outstanding, and to the skill (and patience) of the fitting teams that worked so diligently on the installation.’

Most striking is said to be the chevron walkways created from the Burmatex Tivoli and Tivoli Mist plank carpet tile ranges. Every single planked tile used in the walkway areas had to have at least one cut at 45deg. There was no actual regular repeat to the design therefore every tile had to be compared against the design master plan prior to fitting.

The same colourways in the standard carpet tile were then used to the side of the walkway into the open office areas. The large colour bank in the Burmatex Tivoli and Tivoli Mist ranges was reportedly essential to the project. Each floor had its own palette of colours to meet the design brief which complemented other design features into the office accommodation.

Figura Hexagon tiles from Ege in several colours were used to create contrasting geometric effect designs into meeting areas and closed offices. Bolon Artisan and Flow Triangle design woven vinyl tiles in several colours were used to create a ‘superb visual impact’ into the main restaurant area. Other flooring products included Polyflor Simplay vinyl tiles, Gerflor Tarasafe Standard and Forbo Eternal sheet vinyl.
