Paving the way @ Waltham Forest Town Hall

A natural stone installation – featuring a bespoke blend of Purbeck Stone paving from Lovell Stone Group – has recently been completed at Waltham Forest Town Hall in Walthamstow, East London.

LTP’s ECOPROTEC Natural Finish Stone Sealer was specified to protect the bespoke limestone pavers, which span more than 2,500sq m.

The installation was carried out by Foran Construction, for landscape architects, Churchman Thornhill Finch, and main contractor, ISG.

Forming part of the Town Hall Campus Transformation Programme, the natural stone installation includes a sweeping entrance and circular water feature in an expansive paved square.

The Purbeck limestone, in a bush hammered finish with a Purbeck brushed finish border, was specified to reflect ‘the architectural language’ of the Grade II listed Town Hall.
The installation reportedly seamlessly incorporates ramps, low walls, access points and discreet fountain drainage grates.

Says the company: ‘High performance and sustainability were key considerations for the stone’s protection. LTP’s ECOPROTEC Natural Finish Stone Sealer provided the protection and fulfilled all eco-credentials.

‘The water-based treatment repels stains, without changing the stone’s appearance, and allows surfaces to breathe. It also ensures a safe application, being low odour and VOC-free.’
