BEAUFLOR recently exhibited at London Build Expo, showcasing its vinyl floor solutions for the housing market and developing relationships in the construction industry.
London Build Expo is one of the UK’s largest construction events and Beauflor used the show as an opportunity to showcase its vinyl floors for the housing sector on a ‘striking stand with an impressive feature wall’ made with its Create bespoke design programme.
On show were Blacktex, Smartex, Quintex and the ‘high-performance Xtreme which provide housing projects with attractive vinyl floors that are fast to install, durable and easy to look after. With a textile back that allows them to be fitted without glue in rooms (Blacktex and Quintex – up to 35sq m, Smartex – up to 25sq m, Xtreme – up to 20sq m) the floors make refurbishing within properties fast and easy. By avoiding damage to the subfloor, installing without glue also significantly reduces replacement time over floors that need to be glued down’.
Adds the company: ‘What’s more, these floors can also be installed over existing floors like ceramic or timber.’
Chris Roberts, regional sales director, explains, ‘The housing market, particularly social and affordable homes, need solutions that can have a real impact on the cost of construction and ongoing maintenance. We used London Build Expo to show how our vinyl floors can help housebuilders to achieve exactly this, all while providing occupiers with a floor that’s comfortable, quiet, durable and easy to maintain. It was a really productive couple of days that saw us build upon last year’s event with some great conversations on the market and how our floors can help developers to construct more efficiently.’
The Belgian manufacturer also used London Build Expo to show how it’s working to improve the sustainability of its products. Through its four-stage plan to have zero environmental footprint by 2030, Beauflor says it’s reducing impact in four key areas: raw materials, production, usage, and end-of-life.
Says the company. ‘Visitors to our stand throughout the show learnt how the launch of the new Twilight collection sees a big step in the right direction under the first of these, raw materials.
‘Unlike traditional PVC flooring made from fossil fuels, Twilight uses an alternative PVC that harnesses used cooking oil and tall oil, a by-product of the wood pulp industry. By eliminating virgin fossil fuel derived materials, the global warming potential (GWP) of Twilight is 40% lower than Beauflor’s conventional vinyl flooring for residential use*.’
Concludes the company: ‘Beauflor’s stand stood-out with a large, printed wall that showcased the capabilities of its Create digital print technology that is available from just a single roll of flooring. Bespoke designs can also be printed with Create from just 88sq m.’

*Third-party verification by Fishwick Environmental of a Cradle to Gate LCA in conformance with ISO 14044 and following the requirements of EN15804+A2. Beauflor does not claim full conformance with this standard as an EPD has not yet been generated or published. Comparison made by comparing the impact of bio-based PVC in Twilight against Gradle to Gate LCA calculations of generic and product-specific data sets.
