Ditch the Plywood and make the switch to LION Floor

Plywood has long been the default choice for installing resilient floors, but it’s not without its problems. LION Floor can be used in exactly the same way as plywood but eliminates many of its issues. Sustainably made in Finland from locally sourced wood by-product, LION Floor is readily available across the UK and comes in multiple sheet sizes for the ideal size for domestic and commercial projects.

Peter Jones, Finnish Fibreboard Ltd, makers of LION Floor, says, ‘If you’re an installer that’s always looking for an edge, our LION Floor engineered fibreboards are well worth a look. They’re specifically made for flooring installations and come pre-conditioned with perfect moisture balance, so you can use them right away.

‘What’s more they are installed in exactly the same way as plywood and have been tested to be compatible with leading screed and feather compounds. Switching to LION Floor just means you’ll benefit from a European sourced, sustainable, reliable, versatile and cost-effective alternative. For any installer looking to get an edge in their installations, making the switch is a no-brainer.’

Suitable for all resilient floor installations, and compliant with BS 8203:2017, LION Floor is the first fabricated underlay designed for flooring. Suitable for domestic and commercial environments, it provides a smooth, flat and lasting subfloor. LION Floor is also oil-tempered for better protection against moisture, withstands higher point loads than plywood boards and is pre-conditioned so there’s no need for wetting before use.

LION Floor has been tested extensively with leading feather finishes, smoothing compounds and adhesives by FloorSkills and is recommended for use with Bostik’s Cempolay range, so you can be confident that it will perform. It can also be cut with a knife or a power saw just like plywood. What’s more, it’s widely and consistently available and more cost-effective than BS 8203 compliant plywood boards.
