Palace Chemicals presents flooring adhesives range

Palace Chemicals offers a comprehensive range of flooring adhesives and preparation products, including new additions in the past year. Palace’s approach to the flooring market shows how it cares for its customers’ needs and for the market overall, by providing the widest range possible and by using sustainable practices, expanding the product range into new areas when there is a market requirement to do so.

The Palace flooring range includes preparation products, Waterproofing, DPMs and levellers, all of which have benefited from a striking and effective brand refresh during this year. The new look reinforces and rejuvenates the company’s image to reflect a position of market strength – as a modern and confident innovator, whose primary objective is to make business more profitable for its customers and to make life easier for the users of its products.

A headline product of Palace’s flooring range is Pro Gyp-Base Fast Track Sealer – a product designed to greatly reduce the ‘time to tile’ when dealing with the minimum drying times normally applicable for anhydrite (calcium sulfate) screeds. Pro Gyp-Base is sold as a kit, containing all the elements necessary to achieve a successful bond, including a primer, moisture suppressant and gritted primer.

Used together, the system allows for fast track installation of floorcoverings, when the screed is only 7 days old (or 95% RH). It also avoids the need for a special gypsum adhesive, which is normally required for fixing tiles and other floorcoverings on to anhydrite screeds in order to prevent them from debonding.

When it comes to levellers, Palace offers a wide range of water mix and 2-part latex products, including fast track levellers – such as Fast-Track and Fast-Flex, thick bed levelling compounds, smoothing compounds and surface preparation aids. Some of these are particularly suitable for use in combination with underfloor heating (UFH) installations.

The range offer includes Thick-Bed Fibre Reinforced Floor Levelling Compound, which can be used up to an 80mm bed depth. This product is particularly suited for installations incorporating heated sub-floor systems, where its ability to be laid to a thick bed is sufficient to accommodate most types of wire or pipe-based heating systems. It can be laid over a wide range of different floor surfaces, such as tamped or worn concrete and sand/cement floor screeds. It can also be used on more challenging non-porous floors such as mastic asphalt, plywood and dense impermeable surfaces.

For installations where a rapid finish is required, Fast-Track Rapid Floor Leveller is the ideal solution. It is a rapid setting floor levelling compound, which offers flooring professionals the ideal solution for overcoming time limited projects, where a ‘fast-track’ approach is required. These might, for instance, include retail projects where the amount of down time is required to be minimized or preferably eliminated. This product is ready to be walked on in 30 minutes and can be tiled over in just 45 minutes. It can be used over a wide range of surface types, including concrete, sand/cement screeds, anhydrite screeds, damp proof membranes, flooring grade plywood, vinyl tiles – as well as underfloor heating systems.

Fast-Flex is a newly updated formula for Palace Chemicals, which now boasts capabilities of being able to level floors up to 50mm thick on a single pour. The Fast-Flex incorporates specially blended cements, graded sands, built-in polymer, anti-shrink agents and organic super-plasticisers, which when mixed with water give the ideal properties for application over a comprehensive range of floor surfaces such as tamped or worn concrete and sand/cement floor screeds, plywood and dense impermeable surfaces. It is also suitable for heated sub-floors, giving improved adhesion to all types of substrates and provides enhanced abrasion and point-load resistance.

Investment and innovation enables Palace Chemicals to build an enviable reputation in the flooring sector, where the company aims to offer a one-stop shop for its customers.
