IF you’re looking to explore new trends in soft and hard flooring and derived products, the Kortrijk area is the place to be this spring. Producers from across Europe will come together in Flanders for Flanders Flooring Days from 13-16 May 2024.
Get to know them in the intimate setting of their own showrooms and at The Hub at the Kortrijk Xpo. This third edition will have an even stronger focus on welcoming European partners and international visitors to the bon vivant lifestyle in Flanders.
At Flanders Flooring Days, you can network with hard and soft flooring manufacturers and get to know everything you need to know about high-quality floorcoverings.
Decospan is one partner which will be presenting its wood flooring options. ‘Flanders Flooring Days is a unique opportunity to connect with customers and industry colleagues, gain fascinating insights and feedback on products, and learn more about new developments and trends in the flooring market. It’s an opportunity for us to showcase the next generation of wood floors: flooring that offers real, well-loved wood looks, is extra strong and durable, and that was produced with respect for the environment and natural resources,’ said flooring product manager Griet Fournier.
Verbatex is a soft flooring representative that will be joining for the event.
During Flanders Flooring Days, you can explore their sustainable carpets, made using 88% recycled material: ‘Our carpets have a natural feel and they don’t pill. Environmentally friendly production paired with the carpet’s long lifespan and recycled yarn content signals a big step in sustainability.’
Germany’s Objectflor will be attending for the first time in 2024.
Managing director Stephan Wolff said: ‘We’re looking forward to presenting our versatile EXPONA floorcoverings to our partners, customers, and other attendees.’
Its luxury vinyl tiles look like real wood or natural stone and are hard to distinguish from the real thing. In addition to its design, these floors earn their rank with minimal maintenance and quick installation, which makes them an especially great option for renovations.
Decora SA will also be bringing high-quality vinyl flooring to The Hub. In addition to its own leading Brands such as Arbiton and Ewifoam, it will also be distributing products under partners’ private labels. Its stand is the premier destination for high-quality flooring, baseboards, subfloors, and profiles, all made in Europe.
Flanders Flooring Days welcomes a versatile textile player – Condor – to The Hub. It offers high-quality carpet for the finest hotels and homes, FIFA-certified artificial grass, and needle felt in the most ingenious infrastructure projects. ‘When it comes to textile flooring solutions, Condor Group has the right options,’ is how it summarise its offerings.
More than carpets
Soudal and Mapei, two global players in adhesives, will also join Flanders Flooring Days with a stand in The Hub. Italian company Mapei will be raising its international profile at Flanders Flooring Days, showcasing its universal Ultrabond Eco V4 Evolution adhesive, its products for wet and humid areas, and the Flexcolor 4 LVT adhesive.
Soudal also has an answer for the growing interest in luxury vinyl tiles. ‘There used to be a lot of preconceptions about the quality and design of this type of flooring, but in recent years, vinyl has really proven its added value. Soudal has seen that rise in popularity and is now launching updated adhesive systems for LVT flooring. The LVT 30FW is completely solvent-free and EC-1 Plus certified,’ explains Soudal. ‘Its viscosity is designed not only to bond rubber floors, carpet tiles, carpet and linoleum to subfloors like levelling, screed, wood, concrete and cement, it’s also an excellent choice for wall applications.’
The Basalt collection from Mercury Flooring is slated to launch in May: a contemporary series of trendy doormats and rugs made with high-quality polyamide fibres, printed with advanced digital technologies. Basal highlights the impressive capabilities of Mercury Flooring’s state-of-the-art print production line, showcasing its craftsmanship and innovative approach.
Showrooms and an expo floor
One thing that makes Flanders Flooring Days so innovative is the combination manufacturer site visits and welcoming expo floor The Hub. The event’s founding partners will be happy to welcome you into their showrooms. It’s a unique opportunity to get a firsthand look at the products and production spaces of market leaders such as Associated Weavers, Beaulieu International Group, Belysse, Coretec Floors, Lano and Unilin. As a visitor, you can drop by these and other showrooms in West and East Flanders, then pay a visit to The Hub at Kortrijk Xpo.
One of the producers ready to offer a warm welcome is Balta. With the birth of Studio B in SintBaafs-Vijve, they have the perfect space to meet with visitors: ‘Studio B is a unique venue that embraces the essence of elegance, comfort, and innovation. Visitors can find all the latest trends under one roof.’
Lamett, manufacturer and distributor of parquet flooring and parquet vinyl, will make its first appearance in 2024. ‘After two successful years, Lamett is excited to join this international flooring industry event. We’ll be welcoming visitors for the first time to our brand new showroom where aesthetics, innovative technologies, and the customer journey are key,’ said Pieter-Jan Dendooven, CSO at Lamett. ‘All our vinyl and parquet flooring collections will be presented in different experience corners in this impressive 750sq m space.’
