INTRODUCED last year, the Meditation Ecorugs series from Louis De Poortere has been expanded for 2026 and is now offered in six designs.
With designs inspired by gradients, strokes and transitions that take on what the company describes as a mesmerising quality, the Meditation rug series from Louis De Poorterte now enjoys six designs inspired by culture and art.
Says the company: ‘Made with 100% polyester (70% recycled), recyclable, washable and suitable for outdoors, these new styles from the Ecorugs Collection 2026 are available in eight standard sizes. Selected designs are also available in circular and new ‘peanut’ shapes.
‘Joining 2025’s Coral – the first in the series – comes Sendai, Drop, Kanji, Aquarelle and Lagoon. Finding inspiration in traditional Indian fabric dyeing techniques, Sendai sees colours melt into each other, creating delicate gradients. These tie-dye effects are worked into large, flat tints in four colours for a modern character and a rug that coordinates beautifully with contemporary interiors.
‘The Indian cultural festival of Holi, celebrating rebirth and renewal through colour, is the influence for Drop. Celebrating colour in all its intensity, Drop sees vibrant hues explode into a radiant motif where colour disperses outwards onto a neutral canvas. In seven colours including the rich Gold Moss and intense Dream in Blue, Drop adds vitality and energy to homes. The rug is available in rectangular and round sizes.’
Continues the company: ‘For Kanji, Louis De Poortere has looked toward Japanese calligraphy in a design that evokes the intention behind every brushstroke. Its linear motifs choreograph over the rug for a graphic design with softness and fluidity.
‘Available exclusively in Louis De Poortere’s new, organic ‘peanut’ shape in two sizes, Aquarelle takes its design from watercolour painting, where pigments settle and dilute across a subtle and nuanced palette. Adding atmosphere and a bold, expressive layer to homes, Aquarelle comes in five colours that are unmistakably rich and daringly inviting.
‘The final new design in the Meditation collection is Lagoon. Inspired by the ink blots of the Rorschach projective psychological test, it’s a design that invites uniquely personal interpretations of its flowing forms and delicate transitions of colour. Lagoon’s spontaneous pattern has an elemental quality that roots an interior to the natural world and adds calm. Lagoon is available in six rich colours and in all standard sizes across rectangular and circular shapes.’
Continues the company: ‘Machine-woven in Belgium, all new designs in the Ecorugs Meditation collection are now available from Louis De Poortere. Through the company’s Take Care Program, at the end of their life, the rugs can be returned for free to Louis De Poortere at end of use for reuse or recycling.’
