UK-based Bradite, a manufacturer of specialist protective coatings, says it can supply the following products for commercial and industrial flooring applications. In the words of Ben Mottershead of Bradite:
Fast drying Floor-It
Floor-it is a single pack product that is recoatable in just one hour. Formulated for use in light to medium-traffic situations it is ideal for factory walkways and general shopfloor usage where speed of completion is a major consideration. The nearest competitor floor paints offer recoating times of between four and eight hours.
Floor-it is a high-performance ambient crosslinking water-based acrylic floor paint that has no odour. It’s suitable for use internally or externally on appropriately prepared concrete, wood, metal, or asphalt floors. It can also be used on polyurethane, epoxy and chlorinated rubber coated floors.
The semi-gloss finish dries very hard with strong adhesion.
Applied by either spray, brush or roller, it has a coverage, depending on the porosity of the substrate, of up to 11sq m per litre. Bradite recommends two coats of Floor-it for an existing floor or one thinned and two standard coats for a newly laid floor. Tests have shown that the tough finish can withstand so-called hot-tyre pick-up where coatings can blister if driven over by a rubber-tyred vehicle.
Floor-it is available in a full range of Bradite Floor Paint colours; RAL, British Standard and NCS. And it can also be used with the company’s Low Slip Additives LS29 or LS30 to provide additional underfoot grip.
HD Floor+Wall
HD Floor+Wall is a heavy duty two-pack, water-based epoxy coating and finish paint, suitable for painting concrete, steel, ceramic and terracotta tiles. It offers an easy-to-clean finish, making it ideal for hygiene sensitive areas; hospitals, food preparation areas, breweries, bakeries, etc’.
One Can
The correct preparation of steel substrate depends on whether it is ferrous or non-ferrous. Remove corrosion to brighten the steel, treating any stubborn spots or marks with Bradite Rust Converter before applying a primer, such as Bradite One Can – available in either Matt or Eggshell. If previously painted, all coatings must be well adhered.
TD39 Industrial Degreaser
A single pack water thinned, air drying, rust converter, pigmented with zinc phosphate anticorrosive pigments. TD39 Industrial Degreaser should be used on all types of floors, this is a concentrated water based economical cleaner and should be diluted with nine parts of clean warm water prior
to use, rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry.
On heavily contaminated floors a second application may be necessary. It is non-flammable and has a low odour.
