Forbo expands adhesive-free portfolio with new Eternal Next

FURTHER expanding its adhesive-free offering and part of wider updates to its Eternal collection of general-purpose vinyl, Forbo Flooring Systems has launched Eternal Next.

Joining Forbo’s Fast Supply Fast Fit family, Eternal Next is locally stocked, can be installed using double-sided contact tape and features a refreshed colour palette to meet modern design requirements, making it perfect for projects with tight deadlines, such as school refurbishments, says the company.

‘Forbo’s Eternal range has long been a trusted product on the market, with over 20 years of performance and innovation making it the reliable, ‘no worry’ flooring solution. The latest updates represent a step forward, showcasing Forbo’s expertise in design, performance and sustainability – including the addition of Eternal Next.

‘With Forbo’s new ‘Next’ backing, this adhesive-free range offers flooring contractors a fast and hassle-free installation, using double-sided contact tape, supplied free of charge, that can be installed over existing flooring – saving time and costs.

‘All of this makes the collection perfect for projects with tight deadlines or where downtime has to be kept to a minimum, helping to cut installation time by as much as 50% and costs by 30% – crucial in such a competitive market.

‘Dimensionally stable, Eternal Next’s proven construction can deliver high-quality and trusted performance for decades, without lifting or rucking, ideal for healthcare and school refurbishments.’

Donna Hannaway, head of marketing UK and Ireland, from Forbo Flooring Systems, spoke on this new refresh, saying: ‘With sustainability an increasing concern for end users and specifiers, we have been looking to expand our adhesive-free offering, helping contractors to support these requirements. Our Eternal Next collection is perfect for this. Joining our Fast Supply Fast Fit family, all ranges can be fitted without the need for traditional adhesives and are available in a variety of contemporary designs. They can also be easily uplifted and reused or recycled at the end of their useful life, ideal for projects where products are installed over existing flooring, allowing for minimal subfloor preparation.

‘Eternal Next forms part of a wider refresh to our entire Eternal collection, with the addition of a new PUR matte-satin finish and a new VOC-free Forbo cold weld helping to create a more natural, realistic and seamless finish that your customers will love.’

The company continues, ‘Several new colourways and exciting signature designs have been added to the wider collection, including Colourful Planks, a playful wood aesthetic, the geometric Prism and Woodmix, a creative terrazzo visual. Eternal is also closely linked to Forbo’s other vinyl ranges, having been designed by Forbo’s in-house team, aiding in the creation of integrated flooring schemes.

‘Forbo works continuously to enhance the sustainability of its Eternal range, with the main collection now featuring 30.5% recycled content and Eternal Next containing 24% recycled content. The embodied carbon of the main collection has also been reduced significantly, with both ranges manufactured in factories using 100% renewable electricity.

‘Forbo’s new Fast Supply Fast fit collection features a trio of products: Modul’up 19 dB, Surestep Fast Fit and Eternal Next. Locally stocked for fast supply, all three solutions can be installed adhesive-free using the same double sided contact tape and can be fitted on damp floors up to 92% relative humidity (RH). The products can also be stuck down, depending on the installer’s preference.’
