IDS’s LVT flooring portfolio offers extensive choice for new build and commercial projects

Housebuilders, developers, and specifiers are increasingly recognising LVT as a practical and stylish choice for installation in new homes and commercial projects, as it combines ease and speed of installation alongside fashionable design, high performance and easy maintenance.

According to IDS, the pandemic was a major catalyst for more floor space going over to LVT, with customers increasingly looking for flooring products that are hardwearing, long-lasting, and which support good hygiene by delivering smooth and streamlined surfaces that are easy to clean, and which can withstand the more vigorous routines now in place.

Reflecting the growing opportunity for supplying and working with LVT, IDS has continued to expand its comprehensive portfolio of LVT flooring from brands including Malmo, LiViT, BerryAlloc, and Quick-Step to offer an unrivalled choice for a wide range of specifications, at a variety of price points.

Thanks to the company’s extensive stockholding capability, easy ordering and expert support, IDS can deliver LVT flooring products in 24-48 hours from the company’s 18 regional branches to meet the requirements of any project.

Customers can choose from a wide variety of designs, colours and textures, supported with installation accessories and underlays, all of which are easy to install and maintain.

Malmo is the flagship LVT range within the IDS portfolio and features 57 plank and tile designs cross its Rigid Senses, Rigid Comfort, and Freedom Stickdown ranges, which combine stylish looks with high performance and installation flexibility.

In new build projects, Malmo Freedom Stickdown ticks the boxes for consumers and developers alike, due to its ability to be installed seamlessly across large open plan areas without the need for expansion gaps, including in conservatories and where bi-fold doors are in use. It can also be pre-installed over the entire floor area before heavy furniture such as kitchen islands or sanitaryware are placed on top, allowing projects to flow more smoothly.

Malmo Rigid Senses and Rigid Comfort ‘click’ LVT is ideal for installing in bathrooms, cloakrooms, and en-suites where space can be tight if working around sanitaryware and underneath doors thanks to its push down end joints, with each plank only requiring a firm finger touch to securely click the product into place. The built-in underlay also offers time-saving benefits.

Malmo LVT is hardwearing, resistant to indentations, will not chip or crack, is compatible with underfloor heating, features a built-in 1mm underlay to its Rigid Senses and Rigid Comfort ranges, and has a warranty of up to 25 years for domestic applications and up to 10 years for commercial.

The BerryAlloc Pure LVT range offers a stylish, practical and eco-friendly flooring solution suitable for a range of projects across 14 on-trend plank and tile designs. The range is hardwearing, water resistant and 50% quieter underfoot than other LVT flooring due to the vinyl being bonded onto a rigid substrate rather than being pressed onto it, a feature that will appeal to housebuilders looking for ways to reduce noise in homes.

Bringing a new dimension to the IDS portfolio, BerryAlloc Pure offers 360-degree multidirectional installation which gives the scope to create patterns and designs and the option of mixing and matching tiles and planks in the same flooring area with no transition strips.

The LiViT range of LVT from IDS offers a high quality, durable, and cost-effective flooring solution, which is particularly ideal for specifiers working on refurb or new build projects in social housing.
Hardwearing and waterproof to its core, LiViT is suitable for use throughout the home and comes with the assurance of a 10-year domestic guarantee which offers lifetime cost advantages.

The range offers a choice of 10 easy-living plank and tile designs that are quick and easy to install thanks to patented I4F click technology. The flooring is R10 slip resistant, is compatible with water piped underfloor heating and comes with built-in underlay.

Says Gail Alcock, flooring director at IDS:
‘Housebuilders, developers and specifiers are increasingly choosing LVT for their projects as they recognise the flooring’s many benefits including ease of installation, design choice, acoustics, durability, and easy cleaning and maintenance. At IDS we’ve reflected this in our wide array of LVT products from industry leading brands, all available with 24 to 48-hour nationwide delivery. This extensive stockholding, combined with our flexible ordering process and expertise in logistics, enables us to be responsive to our customers, whatever their needs.’
