WITH entries for the 2025 CFJ Awards having closed, it’s time to look back at the finalists from last year’s Flooring in Offices awards.

The companies involved are the cream of the crop and were spread across two categories – new spaces and refurbishments.

New spaces
We’ll focus on new spaces first, where Westcotes Flooring Company won with Quantum Flooring Accessories, TradeChoice Carpet & Flooring, Protec International, Forbo Flooring Systems,
F Ball and Co, Altro, Sasgo, INTRAsystems, at Shinfield TV Studios.

Curo Construction partnered with Westcotes Flooring to manage preparation, raised access flooring, and floor finishes across multiple buildings at a film studio development.

Their collaboration included detailed specifications, drawings, schedules, and frequent site meetings.

The project involved extensive earthworks, retaining walls, drainage, and infrastructure to support film studios, workshops, and a multi-storey car park, aiming to establish Cine Valley as a premier film and TV production centre by early 2024. Curo Construction’s new build project for a new client involved installing various floor finishes across six buildings and up to three levels.

Tasks included diamond grinding subfloors for keying, applying liquid DPM, primer, and smoothing compounds, and laying more than 3,000sq m of raised access flooring. Materials included Forbo carpet tiles, Altro safety vinyl with capped and coved skirtings, Quantum stair-nosings, Altro vinyl on staircases, INTRAsystems entrance matting, and Protec FR rated temporary floor protection.
