Learn to earn at the Academy for Excellence in Flooring

WITH the start of a new year comes the opportunity for flooring installers to make positive decisions in improving their skills and knowledge.

The Academy for Excellence in Flooring offers a range of training courses for the installation of wood, laminate and luxury vinyl tiles. From the Foundation course to the prestigious Master Installer badge, each one is designed to give installers the skills and knowledge they need to benefit from improved earnings. With the Academy, you learn to earn.

Says the academy: ‘So, at the start of a new year, why not plan to train at the largest flooring industry training academy in the UK? Taking just two days out of your working year gives you the opportunity to earn more thanks to the Foundation course. If you’ve already taken the Foundation Course or have over two years’ experience, spend three days at
the academy to be able to offer a work-winning lifetime installation warranty as a Master Installer.’

Lee Thompson, training and procurement manager, says: ‘We know that for independent installers, making the most of the time they have available is focused on generating income through installation, but training can have a profound effect on your future ability to earn more from the work you do.

‘Our training courses not only focus on the right way to do things, but also give you the tips and tricks to work smarter. Plus, with our Master Installer course you can also give customers a lifetime installation warranty and will be listed on the Quick-Step website – these are proven ways to earning more.’

2023 saw the academy move into a purpose-built facility in Knowsley, Liverpool. The training centre takes 10 years of refinement at the former site and turns it into the perfect training environment for novices and experienced professional alike.

With six 12sq m bays, a dedicated training room, demonstration zone, a special cutting room that keeps dust and noise to a minimum and a breakout area to gather between sessions; it represents the best the industry has to offer.

The academy’s facilities and Master Installer Wood & Laminate course content has also been accredited by the NICF (National Institute of Carpet & Floorlayers). This means those successfully completing the Master Installer Wood & Laminate programme at the academy, can also qualify for NICF Master Installer status.
