Then there was Flooring Matters with Shaw Contract at AUK, Newton Abbot, Devon.
The client, AUK, based in Newton Abbot, tasked Flooring Matters with providing options for refurbishing their new factory consisting of three floors of office space. Collaborating closely with Sarah Cox Interiors, the team aimed to reflect AUK’s three brands cohesively while enhancing flow and maximising natural light.

The selection of products included Shaw Shifting Fields carpet tiles and IVC looselay LVT, chosen to delineate zones for each brand and transition seamlessly between colours and neutrals. The interior designer emphasised using quality materials such as Shaw Contact carpet tiles and acoustic timber panelling to enhance acoustics and aesthetic appeal.

Notably, the design incorporated transition tiles creatively on stairs to create a bold stripe effect. This required meticulous installation, aligning and mitring tiles precisely around the acoustic panels, which posed a labour-intensive challenge but resulted in a stunning finish that met AUK’s requirements for a unique and functional office environment. The project showcased the team’s commitment to teamwork and attention to detail from consultation through to installation.
