UltraFloor products ‘deliver high-quality finish’ for premium assisted living development in Surrey

A PREMIUM assisted living apartment complex in Leatherhead, Surrey, has reportedly benefitted from a high-performance subfloor preparation system from UltraFloor, helping contractors meet a demanding programme while delivering what’s described as exceptional flooring finishes throughout the development.
The 4,500sq m project, completed by flooring experts Midlands Flooring, involved the installation of a wide range of floorcoverings across private apartments, communal areas, corridors, dining spaces, offices, kitchens and recreational areas in the high-quality assisted living complex.

Given the nature of the development, the flooring specification needed to provide durability, safety, slip resistance, and ease of maintenance, while remaining suitable for elderly residents, including wheelchair and walker users.
To achieve this, Midlands Flooring selected a complete subfloor preparation system from UltraFloor, including: UltraFloor DPM IT damp-proof membrane; UltraFloor Prime IT Multi-surface Primer; UltraFloor Level IT Two a general purpose, mid-strength, two-part smoothing underlayment; and UltraFloor Level IT Renovate semi-rapid, fibre reinforced smoothing underlayment.

The floor preparation process involved mechanically grinding the substrate before carrying out moisture testing. With readings above 75% RH, UltraFloor DPM IT was applied to control moisture before the surfaces were primed and smoothed using Level IT Two.
Certain areas were also pumped using Level IT Renovate to ensure a ‘high quality, level finish across the extensive development’.

Says the company: ‘Level IT Two continues to set the benchmark for modern smoothing underlayments, offering a trusted solution that combines consistent performance with ease of application. Developed with real-world installations in mind, this mid-strength, two-component leveller features a high-flow formulation that allows for quick, efficient coverage while maintaining exceptional surface quality.
‘Level IT Two stands out for its excellent flow and workability, spreading effortlessly across a variety of subfloors including concrete, sand/cement screeds and underfloor heating systems.’
