CARPET tiles and looselay LVTs from IVC Commercial have reportedly transformed the Derby offices of Alliance Medical, ‘supporting a feeling of openness and transparency’.

As part of the Cat A fit-out of Alliance Medical’s new Derby offices, IVC Commercial’s Rudiments Basalt carpet tiles and Matrix 70 Loose Lay LVT floors were installed to meet the need for a cost-effective and easy to maintain floor ‘that looked great’.

Said the company: ‘Bringing comfort and good acoustics to the open plan desking and meeting rooms with Rudiments, and natural looks and practicality to social spaces with Matrix 70 Loose Lay, the flooring design supports the openness and transparency of the office space. With texture and tone flowing through the flooring, Office Principles has ensured a bespoke space with design continuity.’

Julie Hattersley, design director, Office Principles North, says: ‘With a move to a new building with first-class communal areas, Alliance Medical was able to reduce the footprint of its offices, so it was important that the space worked hard for employees. From open plan working to focus and social spaces, we’ve created a design that achieves this, using the choice of flooring to support activity as well as uphold the integrity of the office’s design.’

Rudiments Basalt was selected in a range of mix and match colours. Inspired by old stone floors, the textured carpet tile is said to be a popular choice for office interiors, with its bold random-lay design adding texture and interest in a ‘highly usable way’.

Matrix Riviera Oak was selected by Office Principles in a shade to coordinate with the chosen Basalt colours, adding what’s described as a natural look with warm timber tones.

By using Matrix 70 Loose Lay alongside carpet tiles, Office Principles was able to eliminate the need for transition profiles, creating a bespoke, custom-made look right across the floor.

Said the company: ‘Alongside, there’s a cost-effective and easy to maintain finish on offer from both Rudiments and Matrix 70. ‘I’ve specified IVC Commercial products before and found them to deliver a great result,’ continues Julie.

‘Using a combination of carpet tiles and LVT certainly adds interest to the space through the changes in texture and tone, and the client really liked the end result.’
