The CFA is pleased to be able to announce that the Flooring Apprentice of the Year Competition is back for its 10th year in 2022 – and that entries are now open.
This prestigious event – won by Jack Gray of Veitchi Flooring last year (pictured above) – is open to all flooring apprentices, irrespective of whether their employers are members of the CFA or not.
In addition to the prestige, an impressive selection of prizes awaits the winner. These include:
- A massive Specialist Flooring Tool Kit, including tools, materials and clothing worth over £4,000;
- £1,000 cash prize;
- Two pages of publicity in CFJ;
- Invitations to the Awards ceremony for the winner, their employer and tutor.
The Flooring Apprentice of the Year competition is now well-established within the flooring industry and highlights the hard work and achievements of flooring apprentices across the UK. It is made possible through the generosity of the sponsors, who are able to show that they value apprenticeships and believe in the importance of training within the industry.
The CFA would love to see even more entries for the 2022 competition. So, if you are an employer with a flooring apprentice who deserves recognition for his/her efforts, then please nominate them. If you are a training provider with an apprentice floorlayer who stands out from the crowd, please ensure that they enter the competition.
If you are a flooring apprentice, remember that you can nominate yourself – you don’t have to be nominated by an employer or training tutor (although they will have to provide a reference). So start taking photos of your work and get your case study ready!
Entries close at the end of March. The winner will be notified by 29th April and publicly announced on 6th May. The prize giving ceremony at FITA Training Centre will take place on 16th June.
