Shaun Wadsworth wins Outstanding Achievement Award

At the CFJ Flooring Industry Awards held at Dallas Burston Polo Club, Coventry on 6 September, Shaun Wadsworth, our Training Manager, received the Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of his dedication to advancing industry training shaping the future of the trade. The award was presented by Carl Nicol, CEO of Westcotes Flooring Co Ltd, the 2023 winner of this award, along with stand-up comedian Hal Cruttenden the event host.

Shaun has worked tirelessly for the industry and has been instrumental in the update of the Level 2 floorlayer apprenticeship standard, the floorcovering national occupational standards and helped to save apprenticeship delivery in Scotland when the previous delivery body withdrew. In the last two years Shaun has also been invested in raising awareness of the skills and labour shortage in the flooring industry via the CFA’s Future Fitter campaign and was also instrumental in FITA beginning delivery of apprenticeships in 2021.

Shaun said on winning this award “I was extremely grateful and honoured to receive the award and it is safe to say it was quite a shock too. It is a real pleasure to support the flooring industry in my role as Training Manager, working with members and the wider industry to ensure that there are always clear routes into the trade.”

Richard Catt, CEO of the CFA commented: “I am delighted that Shaun has won this award as it is simply very well deserved.”

Many congratulations to Shaun from all at the CFA.
