WHEN laying a hardwood floor that hasn’t been pre-sealed or to refurbish an existing floor, Kerakoll’s Slc Eco Aqua-Pur HPX is claimed to be ‘the perfect product, enabling to help you achieve an extremely hardwearing finish which stands up to high levels of wear-and-tear’.
This two-component water-based varnish for hardwood floors reportedly allows for a shorter application time owing to its two coats and enhances the beauty of the natural wood. It’s been developed to be kind on the applicator and users of buildings where it’s been applied, as it has very low VOC emissions, being certified GEV-Emicode EC1, and solvent levels of less than 80g/kg.
‘The non-toxic polymer is arranged so the strongest part is on the surface giving a protective layer that’s extremely resistant to scratching and wear and the part most similar to the wood is deeper down guaranteeing perfect adhesion to the wood,’ says the company.
‘It’s available in four different finishes depending on the level of shine required. The strong, elastic resins give excellent transparency and follow the micro movements of the wood fibre giving long lasting protection.’
